Many of us living in Scandinavia take it for granted, we often don’t even think about the fact that it is not the same for everyone. We can say, read and write almost anything we want, and some people do, without consideration for those who might get offended or deeply hurt. This issue of SLQ is about freedom of speech. As some of the texts in this issue touch upon, freedom of speech is perhaps not only a freedom but also a responsibility and sometimes this responsibility falls upon libraries.
